Franz Marc was a talented painter, part of the Blaue Reiter (Blue Riders) in Berlin, Germany, in the 1920's. Unfortunately, he lost his life in the first World War.

This painting has always fascinated me. I copied it the first time as a teenager, using an inexpensive gouache paintbox from Pelikan. Now that I started working in oil colors, I copied it again and loving the interaction of the vibrant colors. Unfortunately, the orange, cinnabar and red tones are difficult to capture with my digital equipment. If you have a chance, view it in person.
